Teller - 34 hours

About the Role

As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers play a key role in delivering on the bank's Breakthrough Client Service Standards. Guided by the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the Teller ensures banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations. The role also maintains and enhances client relationships through meaningful conversations that uncover client needs and identify opportunities to provide additional bank products and services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing teller transactions and cash handling functions such as deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and balancing the cash drawer.
• Supporting daily tasks that maintain branch integrity, including double custody for ATM balancing, processing night‑drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, handling returned mail, balancing credit‑card machines, and updating lobby rate sheets and brochures.
• Mitigating risk by safeguarding cash drawer funds and ensuring prompt accounting or transfer of funds.
• Interacting with external and internal clients, anticipating needs, and providing proactive solutions and problem resolutions in line with the bank’s service standards.
• Continuously deepening knowledge of Columbia Bank’s product and service offerings and staying current on changes.
• Discussing and uncovering customers’ financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services.
• Supporting branch referral goals by identifying and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.

About You

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 1 year of previous banking or customer service experience (preferred).
• Bilingual ability (preferred).
• Ability to learn and comply with all bank policies, procedures, and systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with numbers, words, and verbal/written instructions.
• Willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $18.00 – $23.00 per hour. The final rate depends on factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation.
