Teller (30 Hour)
About the Role
As a Teller at KeyBank, you will serve as a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to individuals and businesses in our communities. You will provide excellent client service in-person by welcoming both new and existing clients, assisting with account transactions, and addressing servicing needs. Through client conversations, you will identify financial wellness opportunities and transition clients to a banker for deeper financial discussions. Responsibilities
- Embody a strong client experience culture by being present with every client and teammate.
- Perform teller functions accurately and efficiently in an in-person branch setting.
- Proactively identify and resolve client servicing issues, escalating as needed.
- Listen for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and transition clients to a Banker.
- Assist clients in achieving financial goals using financial wellness tools.
- Attend and participate in morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs.
- Follow compliance, audit, and security procedures, and balance cash drawer within guidelines.
- Review and maintain knowledge of product guides, fees, and policies.
- Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change or new ones may be assigned.
- Comply with all KeyBank policies, including professional conduct, ethical business practices, and acting in clients' best interests.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required).
- Experience in a client service role (required).
- Experience in cash handling (required).
- General understanding of PC with Windows-based applications and calculator (required).
- Notary License (preferred).
Skills
- Knowledgeable about clients' accounts and business with the bank; uses sound judgment with clients and transactions.
- Strong sales and service skills, including educating clients on access channels (e.g., ATM, Online, and Telephone Banking).
- Strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to manage and maintain client accounts accurately and securely.
- Skill in educating clients on financial wellness, including budgeting, saving, and planning.
- Ability to process cash transactions accurately and securely, including deposits, withdrawals, and balancing cash drawers.
- Ensures accuracy in transactions and maintains organized records.
- Efficiently identifies and resolves client servicing issues.
- Understands and follows banking regulations and security procedures.
- Identifies financial needs and promotes relevant banking products and services.
- Awareness of fraud detection and prevention techniques.
- Collaborates effectively with teammates to ensure smooth operations.

Physical Demands
- Prolonged standing (5-8 hours per day).
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects.
- Ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with clients.
- Occasional bending and lifting from floor height.
- Frequent forward reach.
- Frequent lifting of 1–10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
Driving Requirements
Ability to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.
Pay
This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.00 - $23.08 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation also includes incentive compensation such as production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
