Telesitter - PRN - Nights

About the role

Start the day excited to make a difference…end the day knowing you did. Come join our team as a Telesitter, responsible for remotely observing, documenting, and communicating patient safety concerns in the patient setting via video monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observes activity and behavior of multiple patients at a monitor station utilizing telesitter software to ensure a safe patient environment.
• Verbally redirects patient over digital 2-way audio device that is in the patient room.
• Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
• Identifies potential patient safety risks/concerns and communicates to the RN.
• Participates in hand-off of pertinent patient information/behavior at shift change.
• Arranges meal break and other relief times prior to leaving monitoring station so that backup may be provided to ensure constant patient observation.
• Provides patient with explanations as necessary but does not counsel or provide opinions.
• Seeks assistance when a patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others.
• Participates in collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
• Seeks assistance with removal of any potential safety hazard from patient rooms and reports findings to RN in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
• Previous clinical and direct patient care experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills – Microsoft applications required.
• Effective communication skills required.

Requirements

Constant (67-100% of workday) sitting and use of arms and hands; occasional (0-33% of workday) standing, walking, bending, squatting; ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10 lbs.; auditory and visual skills. Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.

Pay

Compensation Pay Range: $15.61 - $20.29
