Telemetry Technician - Providence Anchorage

Currently available: Full time, 0.9 FTE, Night Shift, 36 hours per week.

About the role

Under supervision, the Monitor Technician (MT) is responsible for cardiac and oximetry monitor surveillance for monitored and telemetry patients. Responsible for reporting rhythm changes and potentially lethal rhythms to a Registered Nurse following outlined workflow. Interacts directly with physicians regarding the interpretation of cardiac rhythm patterns or changes in patterns. Maintains a safe, hazard-free and clean environment which facilitates quality patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac and oximetry monitor surveillance for monitored and telemetry patients.
• Report rhythm changes and potentially lethal rhythms to a Registered Nurse.
• Interact directly with physicians regarding interpretation of cardiac rhythm patterns or changes.
• Maintain a safe, hazard-free, and clean environment to facilitate quality patient-focused care.

Requirements

• Coursework/Training and Verification of completion of basic EKG cardiac rhythm recognition course required within six months of hire.
• 6 months of experience working in a healthcare or institutional setting.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training and Medical terminology course.
• Coursework/Training and Verification of advanced cardiac rhythm recognition course.
• 6 months of experience monitoring ECGs in an area that has the capability to monitor at least 16 patients.

Pay

Pay Range: $19.40 - $29.08 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
