Telemetry Technician- Nights 7PM-7AM 36 Hours

Reports to the Virtual Health inpatient Manager. The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuously observing and interpreting assigned ECG rhythm monitors, ensuring prompt and appropriate response to alarms or ECG changes. Monitoring occurs from a centralized location, requiring the technician to oversee multiple patients for the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform various activities regarding telemetry monitoring on patients requiring continual cardiac monitoring.
• Oversee and communicate cardiac patterns on telemetric devices.
• Ensure complete and accurate information in the Electronic Health Record.
• Document irregular rhythms and monitor changes in heartbeat.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, providers, support employees, co-workers, and management.
• Contribute to the development of protocols, procedures, patient education, and training as assigned.
• Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and other committee functions.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Appropriately process admissions, transfers, and discharge orders.
• Assist in the orientation of new telemetry technician personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Complete SEH/SEP ECG class and pass exam yearly with a minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias.
• Minimum: 1 year of applicable experience.
• Must be a quick learner, adaptable, able to work in pressure situations, and work well in a group setting.
• Must be coachable and open to learning new skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Desired: Prior experience as a telemetry technician.
• Desired: Telemetry Technician Certification.

Pay

Starting at $19.40/hr plus shift differential for eligible shifts.
