About the role
The Monitor Tech provides support services, including basic computer keyboarding, assembling and tearing down patient charts, notifying departments of ordered tests and procedures, and stocking supplies. The role involves monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs, following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms, and communicating appropriately when alarms occur. Depending on location, the Monitor Tech may also provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients, summoning nursing staff when assistance is needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic computer keyboarding tasks.
- Assemble and tear down patient charts as needed.
- Notify other departments of ordered tests and procedures.
- Stock supplies.
- Monitor and interpret patient heart rhythms and vital signs.
- Follow set algorithm parameters and respond to alarms with appropriate communication.
- Provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients, if required.
- Summon nursing staff when patient assistance is needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required.
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.

Pay
Salary range: $17.50 - $24.00 per hour. $1,500 sign-on bonus.
