Telemetry Technician-Delnor Telemetry Part Time Nights
About the role
The Telemetry Technician reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. This position performs telemetry monitoring to provide data for the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.
Schedule
Two 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and rotating holidays throughout the year required.
Responsibilities
- Attaches electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
- Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
- Obtains and documents ECG readings as directed.
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
- Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
- Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
- Maintains ECG equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Proof of successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework
- CPR – Basic Life Support via the American Heart Association
