Telemetry Charge Nurse

Job Summary

You will provide critical oversight of nursing activities during a specific shift, serving as a vital resource to staff and ensuring optimal patient flow. This leadership role is central to assuring appropriate resource utilization, providing direct patient care as needed, and ensuring quality care in a patient-satisfying manner.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow within the unit to facilitate timely and effective care, utilizing the Clinical Response Team (CRT) as appropriate.
• Demonstrate exceptional prioritization and critical thinking in acute situations, accurately assessing patients' physical, emotional, spiritual, and learning needs.
• Develop and evaluate effective care plans, provide patient teaching, and document accurately.
• Evaluate and coach staff, ensure standards of care are maintained, and coordinate processes for obtaining Ethics Consults when needed.
• Communicate effectively in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups, including holding tough conversations.
• Mentor others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Provide direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
• Evaluate care given by staff.
• Coach to improve care.

Qualifications

• ADN or Diploma or foreign equivalent Registered Nurse: AZ American Heart Association BLS American Heart Association ACLS
• Preferred BSN
• Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse experience
