Telecommunications/Security Designer II
About the role
We design integrated low voltage systems, calculate electrical power loads, determine UPS requirements, and design system-related single line diagrams. We complete construction documents, understand that assignments have objectives requiring investigation of many variables, independently perform low voltage technology system/electrical engineering assignments, write specifications, review matters with owners, assist other designers, project coordinators, or technicians, conduct QA/QC on the work of others, and perform other duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Design integrated low voltage systems
- Calculate electrical power loads, determine UPS requirements and design of system-related single line diagrams
- Complete set of construction documents
- Understand that assignments have objectives requiring investigation of many variables
- Independently perform low voltage technology system/electrical engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected
- Write specifications covering all low voltage technology system matters, perform reviews and work directly with owners as a part of project team
- Absorb and implement new technologies and methodologies
- Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of the low voltage technology design process
- Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Candidates with 7+ years of experience are strongly encouraged to apply
- Preferred Qualifications: RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) Certification, PSP Certification, familiarity with Autodesk platforms, experience in Data Centers and Healthcare systems preferred
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience, minimum 5 years experience in low-voltage system design, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
