kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company specializing in the design of mission-critical data centers across the US and worldwide, is seeking a Project Manager to support our Telecommunication Team.

About the role

Lead teams of engineers, designers, and staff through project completion, managing medium to large projects concurrently. Prepare and obtain approval for project work plans, proposals, and schedules while maintaining regular client communication regarding project status and quality. Manage relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, regulatory authorities, and the public, ensuring expectations are met and issues are resolved proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project teams through successful completion of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare project work plans, proposals, schedules, and obtain management/client approval.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status, quality, and issue resolution.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including internal/external clients, vendors, regulatory authorities, and the public.
  • Track, analyze, and report project performance against plans, including cost and schedule reporting for clients and internal processes.
  • Address change management matters promptly with clients and internal departments.
  • Conduct monthly project financial forecasts, maintain project budgets, and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Analyze project risks, establish contingency plans, and identify trigger events for mitigating action.
  • Lead business development initiatives, including Requests for Qualifications and Proposals, and prepare scope of work and fee estimates.
  • Mentor and motivate team members, providing administrative and technical leadership.
  • Maintain project records, monitor correspondence, and facilitate project meetings.
  • Administer subconsultant agreements and implement the kW Quality Control Plan for each project.
  • Track workload management and manage client/subconsultant invoicing.
  • Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct, health, safety, and drug/alcohol policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • 7–10 years of project and/or program management experience on large engineering and/or construction projects.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing scope, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Familiarity with project delivery models and experience in project planning, risk, cost, and schedule management.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including presentations to senior management and public stakeholders.
  • Strategic, analytical, and decision-making skills with adaptability to manage deadline pressure and ambiguity.
  • Negotiation skills within politically sensitive contexts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and MS Project.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity reading drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project or Program Management Professional certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Degree in a related field such as engineering or planning.

Pay

Expected salary range: $124,000–$172,000, based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
