Pay

Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.

Schedule

This is an hourly, PRN (as needed) position with variable shifts. Training will occur on all three shifts, primarily first and second shifts. Must be willing to pick up third shifts.

Overview

This position is located in Rockford, IL. The telecommunications operator provides a positive first impression to callers and directs their requests to available resources or services. Serves as a resource for internal and external callers regarding physicians, mission partners, and services associated with this OSF facility and region. Responds calmly and professionally to patient and family concerns and uses various communication methods to handle emergency situations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 1 year of phone systems work or customer service experience
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Keyboarding proficiency
• Knowledge of phone systems and basic computer software applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of prior switchboard operator experience, especially in a healthcare setting
