About the role
This position requires frequent travel throughout the US and involves climbing towers up to 500 feet, lifting heavy objects, and adhering to safety protocols.Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections and investigations, including surveying and documenting existing conditions.
- Utilize excavation equipment to assist in on-site investigations.
- Conduct tests to exacting standards as directed.
- Inspect and maintain telecommunication towers, including those exceeding 500 feet in height.
- Organize field data and perform general repairs, maintenance, upgrades, and re-fabrication to towers and other structures.
- Pick-up and deliver supplies, tools, equipment, and components via company vehicle.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and legal regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean and presentable company vehicle.
- Utilize available resources, technology, and tools to complete work.
- Prioritize and perform job tasks based on open communication with field and management personnel.
- Travel extensively out of state, including weekends and overnight stays.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma with some college experience preferred.
- Good analytical and computer skills.
- Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and analyze/solve problems.
- Willingness to learn and climb towers in excess of 500 feet.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in an outdoor environment in all types of weather.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with workers, other department employees, and the general public.
- Ability to read and interpret sketches and blueprints.
- Ability to obtain applicable tower climbing certifications.
- Ability to travel extensively out of state and for extended periods of time (including weekends and overnight).
- Ability to be covered by company auto insurance plan (e.g., good driving record, no DUI's or suspensions within the last 5 years, no more than 2 traffic violations in the past 3 years).
Qualifications
- Must pass preemployment drug screening, DOT physical, integrity survey, background check, and training and skills week.
