About the role

Performs routine network architecture assignments under general direction. Assists with planning, researching, evaluating, designing, and developing network systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer fiber optic outside plant telecommunications networks.
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess potential locations for fiber optic cable deployment.
  • Prepare detailed engineering specifications, drawings, and documentation for projects.
  • Analyze network performance and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for outside plant issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of network assets and infrastructure changes.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, telecommunications, or related field of study, or Associate's degree in field mentioned above with 2 years of relevant work experience, or HS diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Experience: No additional experience, other than what is listed above, is required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License is Required.

  • Possess entry to basic level knowledge of communications technologies and inter-networking principles.
  • Demonstrate competency in analytical techniques necessary to handle basic assignments.
  • Exhibit fundamental understanding for pertinent telecom equipment, materials, systems and business processes.

Pay

  • Telecom Consultant Associate SG6: $74,551 - $93,189
  • Telecom Consultant SG7: $87,633 - $109,544

Schedule

This role sits on site in Corpus, Christ, Texas. Occasional travel may be required.
