About the role

The position of Telecom Sales Specialist Manager has the objective of developing new business with both existing and new customers. Key responsibilities include leading the consultative approach to customers, participating in Global Account Plans, orchestrating the technological pitch, and supporting the Sales and Presales Teams in the negotiation phase.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the consultative approach to customers, participating in the Global Account Plans with the Telefonica GAMs to identify potential opportunities with the right fit and size for Telefonica.
  • Involvement in the early stages of opportunities and new engagements with customers, orchestrating the technological pitch, key contents, and personalized messages to each customer.
  • Active participation in industry events is key in this position, from qualification of events, through planning, attendance, presentations/round tables, and post-planning.
  • Support the Sales and Presales Teams in the negotiation phase of the contracts in what relates to the solution specifics when it comes to special projects or new service features that need to be developed.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Planning Team to finetune segmentation and ensure an effective lead generation process.
  • Track and measure the evolution of the different families of services supported in the portfolio to define actions of continuous improvement.
  • Be an advocate of technology within the whole Commercial Team promoting training, knowledge sharing, and ideas to unlock new opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • Postgraduate education such as MBA, specific certifications, and specialized training in related fields such as digitalization, automation, AI, and others may be evaluated and positively received.

Skills

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a great variety of stakeholders, including technical C-Levels.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, customer relationship management, and the overall dynamics of B2B relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing market conditions and business needs.
  • Growth Mindset: natural curiosity and a relentless drive to be updated on new technological trends every day.
  • Agile Learner to rapidly synthesize complex technical information into clear, value-driven buyer conversations.

Technical Knowledge

  • Focused on developing new business selling core telecommunication services, including but not limited to: Transport/underlay technologies through fiber, wireless, satellite, and others.
  • Dynamic Network technologies encompassing Dynamic Routing, SDN, NFV, and others.
  • SD-WAN and SD-LAN technologies with focus on leading manufacturers and the challenges these technologies present to B2B customers.
  • IoT technology including its core technical layers such as Connectivity/Protocols, Edge Devices and Hardware, Cloud Platform and Device Management, and Analytics, Application and Security.
  • Unified Communications and Collaboration with proven experience in PSTN replacement and transformation of the collaborative environment of large multinationals.

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required in sales specialist positions.

Languages

  • Preferably Native English and Spanish or Professional Working Proficiency.
