Teen Health Education Internship
About the role
We are recruiting for programming in the following areas: Ardmore, Davis, Dickson, Kingston, or Madill, OK. The program runs 8+ hours per week during the academic year 2026-2027. Stipends and college credit are available.
Responsibilities
Develop Strong Relationships: Collaborate with teen wellness leaders and site partners to ensure effective delivery of HealthCorps' programming across 1-4 school sites.
Assess Schools' Needs and Progress: Research health challenges at schools and measure impact through needs assessments, reporting, and tracking.
Manage Teens Make Health Happen Clubs: Plan and implement the successful delivery of the HealthCorps' program, Teens Make Health Happen, committing to 8+ hours a week throughout the academic year.
Share and Make Aware: Host Café O Yea demonstrations at each site monthly and support regional events. Support HealthCorps' social media platforms by sharing program highlights, stories of impact, and photos.
Commit to the HealthCorps Mission: Prioritize health and wellness daily and ensure relevant health resources are accessible for all students and staff.
Represent HealthCorps: Be an embodiment and extension of our organization's values, both inside and outside sites.
Requirements
Undergraduate or graduate college student majoring in public health, public policy, biology, nutrition, marketing, psychology, education, social work, or related fields.
In good academic standing with your university.
A commitment of 8+ hours each week to the mentorship for the entire academic year.
A self-expectation and strong desire to grow personally and professionally as a leader in the community, and as a speaker who is comfortable in learning and presenting on health-related topics to a teen audience.
Qualifications
Ability to travel to assigned sites, which may include distances of up to 60 miles within the Southern Oklahoma area.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Skills
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to lead and motivate teens.
Experience with health education and wellness programs.
