Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a broad range of technical support services.
- Evaluate the overall support programming of the Tax Commissioners' Office.
- Configure, install, and maintain hardware and software programs.
- Avoid and resolve security issues, recommending privacy safeguards.
- Assist with upgrades and integrations, and train department personnel.
- Provide troubleshooting and repair support.
- Make assessments of technological processes and recommendations for improvements.
- Automate manual processes for greater office efficiency.
- Design and write programs to improve office efficiency.
- Serve as IT liaison and assist with IT-related initiatives.
- Provide a strategic technical skillset to the Tax Commissioner’s Office.
- Perform data analysis daily.
- Provide complex reporting and data analysis to the Tax Commissioner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Utilize financial computer software programs.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Gather and analyze complex data.
- Become an expert in specialized programs such as DRIVES and Enterprise Assessment & Tax, powered by iasWorld functions: Reporting, System maintenance, Programming, Complex data input, Analysis and verification of data, Setup, implementation, maintenance, and training on property tax, tag and title, and accounting systems.
- Troubleshoot all system problems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Minimum Educational And Training Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to troubleshooting systems, database programming, and software installation.
- Proficiency with computer networking and operating systems.
- Knowledge and a wide range of software and hardware experience, usually associated with the completion of 3-4 years of work experience.

- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.
- The employee must occasionally lift light objects.
