Technology Practice Researcher, Executive Search

The Researcher will lead internal client teams in executing Executive Search, Board, and Advisory projects for multiple clients within an industry or function. This role provides specialized market insight, strategic guidance, and client engagement support. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and can balance multiple projects simultaneously. This team member focuses on the IT Services Segment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research & Project Planning
- Serve as lead Researcher for multiple simultaneous client projects in collaboration with Consultants and other Researchers
- Act as a thought partner on all aspects of projects by identifying and developing rigorous approaches and strategies, including priority targets through market research, utilizing data tools, and scoping parameters to deliver client solutions at scale and scope
- Guide the project team throughout search processes to drive strategy, candidate solutions, and supporting client materials with consistent focus on quality and speed
- Identify, calibrate, and prioritize potential candidates through thorough research, the internal Firm network, and external resources
- Conduct information and data synthesis (written and verbal) from interviews, discussions, and working sessions to identify stakeholder needs
- Work broadly across different Firm offerings to develop a well-rounded understanding of solutions
- Create high-quality client documentation, including candidate profiles, role specifications, search strategies, and assessment and client progress reports
Business Development
- Partner with client teams to develop pitch presentations and business development materials, adapting deliverables to address specific client needs
- Proactively initiate, shape, and drive business development activities and related projects, including monitoring market shifts, company updates, and people moves
- Partner with consultants to build targeted event lists for business development-related dinners, conferences, and other points of connection
Knowledge Management
- Contribute to the Firm's knowledge management activities by sharing expertise and best practices, developing a network within an industry or functional area, and recording pertinent information
- Develop subject matter expertise, providing strategic guidance and insights on important trends and topics to support client teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 3 years' professional work experience (post-undergrad)
- Demonstrated functional experience of a similar nature (e.g., market research, qualitative or legal research, professional services/consulting, project planning)
- Previous project-based experience working effectively on multiple mandates simultaneously
- Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication ability
- Very strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Depth of knowledge or experience in the IT Services industry and ecosystem
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
- Affinity and interest in the executive search or professional services industry
- Superior engagement management abilities and initiative to lead projects with minimal guidance or supervision
- Demonstrated ability to push back constructively and offer solutions
- Forward-thinking, structured, and process-oriented thinker
- Self-starter mentality with good business judgment
Pay
The compensation range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 annually.
