Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, reliable digital solutions using advanced technical expertise.
• Write code, develop software components, and implement functionalities according to project requirements.
• Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to design technical architecture and infrastructure for digital solutions.
• Propose design patterns and make architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Test own code and participate in quality assurance processes, including writing and executing unit tests, conducting code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in Agile or other development methodologies, attend meetings, and contribute to project planning and progress tracking.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, specifications, and user guides.
• Design, develop, and implement rule-based systems using Drools BRMS.
• Lead the development of DRL files and decision tables, optimizing rule performance and managing rule conflicts.
• Decide between stateless vs. stateful KIE sessions based on use case.
• Integrate Drools with Java-based applications and other enterprise systems.
• Oversee deployment pipelines for rule updates and versioning.
• Work with business analysts to translate requirements into executable rules.
• Document rule logic, dependencies, and testing strategies.
• Resolve issues related to rule execution, memory management, and rule firing.
• Provide third-level support for rule-related bugs or performance bottlenecks.
• Manage rule lifecycle, testing, and deployment pipelines for updates.
• Ensure rule services are scalable, maintainable, and validated through automated tests.
• Support regression testing for rule changes.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on development experience.
• 4+ years of experience developing Java applications in Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
• 4+ years of experience building APIs and services using REST and JUnit Testing.
• 2+ years of experience with automation technologies (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Jenkins).
• 4+ years of experience building, testing, and deploying code to run on cloud infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience working with Drools rules engine and rule-based systems.
• Deep understanding of Drools Rule Language (DRL), KIE sessions, and rule lifecycle.
• Experience integrating Drools with other systems (e.g., databases, APIs).
• Experience defining business rules in collaboration with stakeholders, using decision tables or no-code interfaces.
• Sound knowledge of KIE Base to run rules on specific data.
• 2+ years of experience in Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to product/services development and public cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience in automation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Adept at growth mindset, including agility and developing yourself and others.
