About the role

This is a 12-month project-based position as a Java Backend Developer, working onsite in Philadelphia, PA 19103 from day one. The role requires 8+ years of experience and will involve video/virtual interviews for selection.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot Microservices
• Implement persistence layers with Hibernate and JPA
• Build and consume RESTful APIs following microservices architecture principles
• Work with relational databases such as MySQL
• Use version control systems (Git) for code management
• Deploy and manage applications using containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Apply DevOps practices and tools throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with team members and work independently on assigned tasks

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in Java backend development
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (BE required)
• Strong proficiency in core Java, OOP principles, and design patterns
• Expertise with Spring Framework, Hibernate, and JPA
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases
• Practical knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices
• Proficiency with Git version control
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with DevOps practices
