About the Role
Join Freddie Mac’s Technology Summer Internship program to gain hands-on, skill-building experience with a leader in the financial technology industry. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related technology area, offering real-world experience and the opportunity to build lifelong connections. Upon successful completion of the internship and your undergraduate degree, you may be extended an opportunity to join our Technology Analyst Program—a 12-month cohort experience that springboards you into a full-time technology career in the housing and finance industry.
Enterprise Operations + Technology (EO+T) helps run and transform Freddie Mac’s business—from building applications and modernizing cloud and data platforms to protecting systems from cyberthreats and keeping critical operations resilient. As an intern, you will contribute to work that improves how we serve customers and help make home possible for millions of families.
Responsibilities
- Participate on project teams to develop innovative, high-quality software solutions in an Agile development environment.
- Help define business and user needs and processes; identify solutions and work with project team/sponsors in addressing them.
- Participate in requirements analysis; help design applications based on system requirements.
- Help build enhancements within existing applications.
- Support implementation of software application changes.

Requirements
- Seeking undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related area.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- College-level experience with coding practices and languages (such as Java, C/C++, Python, and others).
- Familiarity with code completion and generative AI tools used to support software development and metrics dashboards.
- Knowledge of Agile software development project methodologies preferred.
- Experience with popular business tools (Windows, Office Professional, Visio, PowerBI, SharePoint, etc.).
- Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Organized with the ability to meet deadlines and contribute to team success.

Pay
Interns are paid a set, non-negotiable hourly rate of $32/hr.
This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $54,000 - $82,000 for full-time roles following the internship.
