Technology Engineer, Starburst Platform Operations

About the role

This job is an integral member of one of our teams responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of our technical solutions, ensuring their efficient and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions, as well as providing general production monitoring and support
• Maintaining and optimizing the Starburst Enterprise Platform (SEP) on-premises and in the Google Cloud Platform
• Monitoring work against production schedule and providing progress updates and reporting any issues or technical difficulties to leadership
• Documenting technical processes and procedures, and participating in technical reviews and knowledge sharing sessions
• Collaborating on the design and implementation of solutions with architecture to ensure solution alignment to enterprise goals and standards
• Performing technical analysis and providing insights to support decision-making across various departments
• Staying up-to-date with the latest relevant technologies and industry best practices

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions
• 3 years of technical problem solving, solution implementation, team/project collaboration experience
• 3-5 years experience implementing software for containerized applications using Red Hat Openshift, Kubernetes, or GKE
• 3-5 years experience managing software applications using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) techniques and tools including Gitlab, Terraform, Ansible, Helm Charts, .yaml code, config properties, etc
• 3-5 years experience applying role based authentication using LDAP, OAuth and Role-Based Access Control
• 3-5 years experience with monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting software in a distributed environment
• 3-5 years experience in Linux system administration and proven ability to operate within the Linux OS for installing and configuring software
• 3-5 years experience with the Google Cloud Platform and its associated services such as Cloud Run, Google Secrets Manager, Cloud Networking, Google Cloud Storage, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Cloud SQL (Postgres)
• Proven experience securely storing, managing, and accessing sensitive data such as API keys, passwords, certificates and other confidential information using Google Secrets Manager or CyberArk Conjur
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to optimize code by analyzing query plans, identifying bottlenecks, and applying optimizations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field preferred
