Technology Designer

Responsibilities

• Design and document technology systems including structured cabling, security systems, access control, surveillance (CCTV), audio/visual, and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Cook up designs that align with overall building design and client expectations, working closely with MEP, architectural, and project management teams.
• Support the development of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Facility Monitoring and Control Systems (FMCS), and other integrated control systems.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, riser diagrams, and device layout plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Go to sites and coordinate with stakeholders to make sure the design is implemented correctly.
• Keep up with new technologies, codes, and best practices for commercial building systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in designing diverse technology systems for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Familiarity with design and implementation of structured cabling, data networks, security systems, and A/V systems.
• Working knowledge of SCADA, FMCS, or other building controls systems is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of applicable codes and standards (e.g., BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across design disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology Design, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent experience considered.
• Additional engineering background in MEP is a HUGE PLUS.

Pay

$70,000 - $85,000 DOE - overtime eligible (OPT welcome to apply. The company may potentially offer future H1B sponsorship or EB2/EB3 visa sponsorship based on performance.)
