Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of complex diagnostic CT procedures, with primary responsibility of completing diagnostic studies from inception to completion under the direction of the radiologist.
- Takes accurate verbal patient histories and starts I.V.s, to administer IV contrast.
- Maintain a positive imaging environment for our patients and act as a patient liaison to the radiologist.
- Computer applications/scanning and quality control on scanner.
- Daily paperwork & protocoling.
- Reviews/explains the procedure to the patient.
- Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems.
- Completes necessary protocolling tasks.
- Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during the exam.
- Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in Duly Health and Care sponsored training programs.
- Administers IV and oral contrast according to site-specific protocols.
- Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site reading radiologist.
- Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Complies with Duly Health and Care CT Imaging policies/procedures.
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety.
- Maintains current IEMA license for CT and, 24 hours of CE every 2 years.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited education program in radiology technology required.
- ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(CT)
- Current IEMA license
- BLS -- Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR required.
- Minimum one year CT related experience or training preferred.
