About the role

The role aims to support Mennel's food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The primary responsibility is to learn and carry out daily tasks to maintain the efficiency of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations, including GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit-ready condition.
• Operate machinery on a production line, including high-speed packaging equipment.
• Perform all required checks, including visual checks and product size and weight checks.
• Immediately communicate any deviations from standards to the Team Leader.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and attend off-shift meetings as required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift 50-65 pounds on a frequent basis, climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write basic instructions, correspondence, and perform checklists.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Use solid judgment when making decisions and quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.
• Regularly stand, walk, use hands to perform maintenance tasks, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Exposure to common wheat allergens.
