Launch Your Career as a Water Technician Trainee! As a Water Technician Trainee, you'll play a vital role in one of three essential maintenance programs: Valve Exercise, Fire Hydrant Maintenance, or Blowoff Maintenance. Our 3-month trainee program is designed to set you up for success, with clear pathways for career growth. Once you meet expectations, you'll have the opportunity to advance to Water Technician 1.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Valve Exercise, Fire Hydrant Maintenance, or Blowoff Maintenance programs.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and be aware of roadside hazards.
- Work along busy streets, highways, and residential roads, often in high-traffic areas.
- Adapt to high heat, humidity, sudden storms, and cold temperatures.
- Operate in various weather conditions including wet conditions, embankments, uneven terrain, and changing weather.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environments.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
