Technician Trainee - Water

Launch Your Career as a Water Technician Trainee! As a Water Technician Trainee, you'll play a vital role in one of three essential maintenance programs: Valve Exercise, Fire Hydrant Maintenance, or Blowoff Maintenance. Our 3-month trainee program is designed to set you up for success, with clear pathways for career growth. Once you meet expectations, you'll have the opportunity to advance to Water Technician 1.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on water systems
• Inspect and repair fire hydrants and other water infrastructure
• Participate in valve exercise programs to ensure proper system operation
• Adapt to various weather conditions and road surfaces during inspections
• Follow safety protocols and be aware of roadside hazards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Experience with basic mechanical and electrical systems is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Pass a background check and drug screening

• Basic knowledge of water systems and plumbing
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and customer service skills
