Technician-Storage Wells

Responsibilities

• Ensures storage operational reports are delivered to Gas Storage Engineering in a timely manner
• Weekly wellhead pressures for tubing and all well annuli
• Weekly wellsite surveys
• Works with team of storage Operators to oversee well work and provide logistical support for large, well related projects
• Performs Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and store in well files
• Collections field tickets and store in well files
• Oversees routine well work (i.e. slickline and wireline projects, wellhead maintenance, mechanical integrity tests)
• Provides logistical support by designating safe staging areas for equipment and by assisting contract well site supervisors with minor tasks so they can stay focused on the main objective of the well work procedure
• Makes improvements to storage operation
• Works with team of storage Operators to test and grease wellhead valves
• Repairs valves that do not pass tests
• Performs 3 year MITs on wells
• Keeps wellheads painted and well sites in pristine condition
• Maintains roadways ensuring access from emergency services
• Installs/maintains well transmitters for storage wells
• Problem solves
• Troubleshoots flowline freezes and work with team to get well flowing again
• Works with Gas Storage Engineering to determine source of annular pressure
• Helps solve issues related to wells, pumps, tanks, flowlines, valves, etc.
• Identifies and reports and corrects safety and environmental concerns
• Participates in safety programs/initiatives, development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans
• Completes all applicable documentation and record-keeping
• Deals with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism
• Speaks clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listens carefully
• Maintains regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance
• Works non-traditional hours as needed
• Maintains a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public
• Acts as Operator Qualification on all assigned covered tasks as determined by the direct Supervisor

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 10 years gas well experience and gas well workover experience
• May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame
• Strong customer focus and attention to detail
