About the role

The Reliability Technician performs analysis, reporting, and interpretation of gas compressor, turbine engine, NGL pumps, and other process equipment at gas cryogenic treating and natural gas transmission & compression pipeline facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quarterly vibration routes on reciprocating & centrifugal equipment, pumps, compressors, motors, fans, etc.
  • Provide technical support and direction identifying machinery performance issues.
  • Provide analyst data review of new equipment during start-up and troubleshooting.
  • Assist root cause failure analysis on failed equipment.
  • Provide findings reports during predictive maintenance routes.
  • Assist field maintenance and operations teams with preventative maintenance best practices and procedures.
  • Assist Pipeline Techs with turbine, turbine controls, and pump troubleshooting.
  • Perform laser shaft alignment on pumps and motors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Proven knowledge in all mechanical process and prime moving machinery including reciprocating compression, performance of gas engines, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, and vertical and horizontal NGL/Crude/hydrocarbon process pumps.
  • Work experience in using portable SKF vibration data collectors (or equivalent).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Basic computer skills such as creating corrective maintenance work requests.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to modify communication style to influence, persuade, negotiate, and engage all parties according to the audience and circumstance.
  • Take initiative and be proactive in addressing issues; quickly and efficiently complete tasks.
  • Demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability, and commitment to the role, team, and company.
  • Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment, in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
  • Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools; climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position.
  • Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.
  • Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
  • Must wear special safety equipment while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.
  • Ability to take call-outs and work overtime.
  • Must live within 1 hour of reporting location (Skellytown, Aledo, Brenham, or Hobbs).
  • Ability to travel domestically, up to 75% of the time.

Schedule

Day shift. Ability to take call-outs and work overtime as required.
