About the role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Technician, Production Reliability to join our team. In this role, you will set up, clean, and change over equipment in Production following appropriate procedures in a clean and safe work environment, meeting all cGMP, FDA, DEA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations. You will support the operation of equipment and lines by assisting and guiding operators with setup, adjustments, and operating parameters, while providing continuous monitoring to improve productivity through enhanced Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Responsibilities
- Regular and predictable onsite attendance and punctuality.
- Perform packaging line/equipment setup, clean, and changeover activities requiring the use of hand tools, removal/replacement of machine parts, adjustment, and cleaning of parts.
- Assist and guide operators through the setup process and routinely with operating adjustments and parameters to maximize equipment performance.
- Respond to service calls while the resource is in operation, which may include off-shift periods and weekends.
- Schedule, plan, perform, and/or record preventive maintenance activities that are the responsibility of Flow Technicians.
- Perform preventive, corrective, or emergency work orders to ensure reliability of equipment, documenting through work orders to maintain required equipment history.
- Perform first-line troubleshooting and repairs prior to escalation to Maintenance or Engineers.
- Provide immediate notice to appropriate staff of the need for more advanced troubleshooting functions and/or repairs.
- Make recommendations for process, operational, and/or training/staffing improvements to ensure optimal performance of equipment and machines.
- Maintain the accuracy of written and electronic documentation procedures for regulatory compliance.
- Perform more advanced troubleshooting functions under close direction of experienced MRTs or Engineers.
- Ensure a safe and efficient work area, eliminating clutter and foreign particles that could damage or contaminate equipment or product.
- Conduct routine inspections on assigned equipment used in packaging of products, documenting results as appropriate.
- Resolve routine issues or escalate to Coaches and/or Maintenance Reliability Technicians (MRTs).
- Notify Maintenance or other individuals as appropriate of any situation requiring immediate attention (emergency) or enter work orders for items that can be planned and scheduled.
- Conduct daily evaluations to ensure maintenance of required tools, supplies, and work area necessary for completing required maintenance tasks in accordance with 5S+1 principles.
- Actively participate in daily Performance Center (PC) meetings regarding equipment and line performance.
- Work on projects and improvement initiatives and act as an advocate within the operation for improved Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Support continuous improvement by identifying specific improvement opportunities, completing related tasks as assigned, and recommending or making procedural updates.
- Initiate, perform, evaluate, and/or look for training opportunities for Technicians in the area by providing, creating, and/or updating troubleshooting guides and tools.
- Maintain area equipment setup documentation (setup guides, starting points, build-sheets, etc.).
Requirements
- Minimum: High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Preferred: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, food, or other GMP packaging operation; experience in other related manufacturing or mechanical settings may be considered.
