Technician-Pharmacy III

Responsibilities

• Practices the Medication-Use Process: Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges/credits and disposes of medication safely and accurately.
• Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
• Maintains inventory management.
• Uses and maintains automation/equipment.
• Provides education/training as appropriate.
• Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
• Contributes to operational unit and entity goals, programs and report cards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Specifications

• Experience: Minimum required - Advanced competencies in any of the following: 1. Settings where the majority of the workload consists of gathering and processing patient / clinical information for prior authorizations, refill authorizations, or patient assistance applications. 2. High risk compounding, 3. Tech check tech 4. Med history 5. NICU/Pediatric 6. Other duties that require certification / program completion (i.e. Narcotic/ASHP Diversion Certification).
• Preferred/Desired Experience: With Microsoft suite applications, automated pharmacy equipment. One year hospital experience.
• Education: Minimum required - Technician training program/academy. Preferred/Desired - CPTC or Enrolled in an ACPE accredited School or College of Pharmacy.
• Special Skills: Licensure - PTCB certification required; registration with the state board of pharmacy. Minimum required - CPhT.
