About the role

The Technician at Unity Eye in Ord, Nebraska, plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive proper care and treatment. They are responsible for various administrative and clinical functions, including obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary and ancillary testing, scheduling patients, preparing the exam room, and assisting doctors with exam needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of preliminary testing procedures.
  • Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
  • Assist optometrists with patient procedures.
  • Cooky patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
  • Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Provide a safe, clean, organized, and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
  • Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctors.

Physical Demands

Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, stooping, grasping, lifting, talking, hearing.
Physical requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
