Technician, Orbiter (Saturday and Sunday 6am-6pm & Thursday and Friday 6:30 am-3:00pm)

This is where your technical expertise helps create life-sustaining products. As an Orbiter Technician within our Manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialized orbiter equipment used in the production of medical cuffs. In this critical role, you will help ensure production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while maintaining the high-quality standards required for medical device manufacturing. Working closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance activities, diagnose equipment issues, implement repairs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Your contributions will play a key role in minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment performance, and ensuring our customers receive the products they depend on.
Responsibilities
- Operate orbiter machines according to established procedures and manufacturing requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain optimal operation.
- Perform routine maintenance activities including cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and replacement of worn components.
- Develop and support preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and performance issues.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and corrective actions to restore equipment to operational standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair reports, and equipment documentation.
- Provide technical support to production teams regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
- Assist in training operators and technicians on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Partner with Engineering and Maintenance teams on equipment upgrades and performance improvements.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to verify compliance with product and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve equipment-related bottlenecks impacting production efficiency.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives and support operational flexibility across the production area.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to achieve production goals.
- Support a Zero Harm culture by following environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and quality issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and company quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing production.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with orbiter equipment components and repair techniques.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with maintenance management systems is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands
- Frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; team lifting or lifting equipment is required for items over 40 pounds.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds with assistance or proper lifting equipment.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform repetitive hand and finger movements requiring significant manual dexterity.
- Ability to inspect equipment and read technical documentation with close visual acuity.
- Color vision may be required to identify color-coded components, wiring, indicators, and safety signals.
- Work in environments with moderate to high noise levels while utilizing appropriate PPE.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
