We are seeking a Bio Process Operations Technician to join the Maintenance & Operations team within the Vaccines integrated process team at our start-up vaccine manufacturing facility in Wilson, NC. This role provides shop floor operations support to aseptic manufacturing, including aseptic primary filling, inspection, packaging, and CIP/SIP.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manufacturing operations and facility disinfection.
  • Set up and perform aseptic vaccine manufacturing, including primary filling, inspection, packaging, CIP/SIP, and additional equipment within qualified parameters.
  • Identify potential equipment problems and partner with Vaccines Maintenance Technicians for resolution.
  • Troubleshoot process, electronic systems, and equipment for routine and basic problems.
  • Perform routine room and equipment disinfection, and manage movement of gowning, disinfectants, and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS and GMP standards in assigned areas.
  • Maintain documentation in electronic batch records, logs, and other systems per site procedures.
  • Uphold good housekeeping and 5S standards in the work area.
  • Adhere to data integrity principles while performing duties.
  • Identify and escalate potential quality or safety issues; assist in investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
  • Monitor team and process performance to improve reliability through problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Set up and operate equipment per established training and procedures to minimize delays or discards.
  • Implement continuous improvement and productivity enhancements within the team.
  • Collaborate with Technicians and cross-functional groups for assigned areas.
  • Train, develop, and mentor team members to share best practices.
  • Pursue knowledge and skills in assigned areas and share insights with the team.
  • Demonstrate leadership, conflict resolution, and a willingness to provide/receive constructive feedback.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Operations coach.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate’s degree in Business, Science, or Technology-based field and/or bio-pharma certificates (e.g., Bioworks) preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in a GMP manufacturing facility (aseptic GMP environment strongly preferred).
  • Ability to gown and work in an aseptic environment.
  • Experience with aseptic filling, visual inspection systems, CIP/SIP systems, packaging equipment, or similar operations (preferred).
  • Experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., FDA) and cGMPs in vaccine/pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving, or Right First-Time methodologies.
  • Basic SAP/MES/electronic logbook knowledge from a production execution perspective.
  • Demonstrated leadership, peer training, or productivity improvement experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multi-shift operation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and assist others in a culture of inclusion and empowerment.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours as needed.
  • Ability to support technical writing (e.g., SOPs).
  • Outstanding communication skills across shifts and teams.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $57,900 – $91,200. An employee’s position within the range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, and business needs. The successful candidate may also be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentives, if applicable.

Schedule

8-hour, 2nd shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
