Technician - Maintenance FARE
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs routine facility repairs, basic HVAC/electrical work, and preventive maintenance across assigned branches to keep buildings safe, compliant, and operational. The role coordinates with vendors for larger repairs, closes work orders, and partners with the company’s Property Managers to prioritize work by business impact.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Repair
- Minor construction and repairs (doors, hardware, lighting/ballasts/lamps, ceiling tiles, flooring, painting, basic plumbing)
- Perform basic HVAC tasks (filter changes, belt replacement, simple diagnostics/adjustments)
- Support vendor PMs with basic electrical tasks (e.g., 120/277V lighting components)
Preventative Maintenance Plans & Work Orders
- Execute scheduled PM tasks and document results in the facility maintenance program
- Triage, plan, and complete corrective work orders
- Identify recurring issues and recommend fix-forward actions to reduce emergency callouts
Vendor & Project Coordination
- Parking lot maintenance
- Coordinate and oversee service vendors for specialized repairs (HVAC, overhead doors, signage, paving, etc.)
- Verify scope completion and quality
- Support small facility projects and site readiness activities in collaboration with Property Managers
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide pick-up and delivery service for all MacAllister facilities as needed
- Aid in the setup and supervision of meetings and company functions, including golf outings, company picnics, and service award events
Required Position Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
3 years or more of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent field
Preferred: 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent field
HVAC certification
Experience working at a multi-site facility
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of basic HVAC and electrical repairs (lighting, switches, receptacles), hand/power tools, and work-order systems
Able to perform basic maintenance and repair on facilities
Strong team player who is flexible and adaptable to change
Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
Well organized with good planning skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Good PC skills – intranet and Outlook
Able to safely operate a motor vehicle
Able to work without close supervision
