About the role
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of equipment in the safest and most effective way to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may feature large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics and make repairs to minimize downtime.
- Work with a diverse fleet, including Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and specialty equipment (e.g., generators, pumps, HVAC, oil/gas equipment).
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
- 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty lines equipment (e.g., large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil/gas equipment) strongly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, including troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade may be required.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) may be required based on location needs.

Pay
Base pay range: $23.52 - $32.34 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on factors such as location, education, training, and experience.
