Technician - Level 1

About the role

Sunbelt Rentals seeks a Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of equipment, including aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty lines such as large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil & gas equipment. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and minimizing downtime while supporting a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on rental equipment to ensure operational readiness
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems on diesel-powered and heavy construction equipment
• Work flexibly to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic rental environment
• Perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, lifting 50+ pounds, and working indoors/outdoors as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1 to 3 years of technician experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (e.g., generators, pumps, HVAC, oil & gas)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs
• May need to provide tools of trade

Pay

Base pay range: $18.99 – $26.11 per hour. Starting rate may vary by position, location, education, training, and/or experience.
