Technician, Lab Manager

What is my role?

The lab manager is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the software, PC, and other testing devices.

• Ensuring the security of computers
• Care of the lab equipment
• Upkeep of supplies
• Providing a smooth operation
• Technical assistance in setting up the labs
• Aid faculty with lab usage or special software requests
• Maintain procedural documentation
• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of all computing labs
• Conduct a daily walkthrough of labs
• Ensure that every component of the lab is working properly
• Follow up on purchase orders for each project (MARS)
• Maintain the log to show IN/OUT of the inventory
• Follow up on the shipment IN/OUT of the Thousand Oaks and Bangalore in India
• Distribute lab equipment (ALE and non-ALE product)
• Mount/Unmount equipment on the rack for testbed (ALE and non-ALE product)
• Overall responsibility for the operation of the lab and other lab-related issues
• Manage hardware inventory
• Process RMAs
• Maintain accurate Inventory Management Logs/Details
• Receive/Shipment of HW from/To other locations

What am I responsible for?

• Equipment installation and configuration of computers for usage by testbed
• Tests equipment and software in the lab to ensure it is fully operational
• Maintain equipment/software inventory and keep tracking records by logging it in the database

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience
• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Basic working knowledge of Windows OS and Linux OS
• Ability to install Windows OS and LINUX OS
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and use simple tools to secure network equipment in racks
• Travel to Thousand Oaks office
• B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
