About the role
This is an onsite, 4-month contract position in Pensacola, FL (32514) with possible extension. The pay rate is $22/hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily technical tasks under minimal supervision, including buffer/reagent/test solutions preparation, membrane mix preparation, membrane casting, post-processing, and sample characterization using analytical equipment.
- Support pilot/prototyping and scale-up runs.
- Collaborate closely with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Communicate project/task progress and results orally and in writing, including data organization, analysis, and report summarization.
- Assist R&D management and technical staff in planning and tracking task progress.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for lab notebooks, labels, and inventory.
- Perform all activities in accordance with GMP requirements and established safety procedures.
- Apply quality concepts and tools in daily activities.
- Lift/move frequently (10 lbs), sometimes (25 lbs), and occasionally (40 lbs).
- Follow written policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Lead lab maintenance to ensure a clean and safe work area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer or materials science & engineering, biology, or related disciplines.
- 0–1 years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge of general laboratory techniques (e.g., filtration, glassware washing, micro-pipetting, pipetting, reagent preparation, and weighing).
- Experience handling chemicals with no allergies or sensitivities.
