Technician - Judy Center Customer Support
This is a grant-funded position that implements and maintains family-based case management for families at the Judy Center. The Family Service Coordinator assists with implementing, monitoring, and hosting early childhood programs and services for children and families to address the Component Standards of the Maryland State Department of Education Judy Centers. The Judy Center serves children birth through five years of age and their families by providing comprehensive early care and education services to promote continuous improvement toward child development and school readiness.
Responsibilities
- Partner with community providers and collaborate with agencies providing services for young children (aged birth through five) and their families.
- Manage cases and coordinate comprehensive services tailored to young children and their families.
- Communicate effectively with families, maintain a family-centered and strength-based approach, and focus on establishing trusting relationships.
- Maintain accurate data records for evaluation purposes and track referrals for comprehensive services.
- Assist in planning programs and co-facilitating sessions or services.
- Help parents improve their skills to optimize the home environment and strengthen the parent-child relationship.
- Enhance family support systems and increase the family's ability to problem-solve and advocate for themselves and their children.
- Utilize resources appropriately to complete work efficiently; proactively communicate work status; participate and contribute fully as a team member; and exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills to resolve sensitive matters.
- Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follow federal laws, state laws, school board policies, administrative regulations, and professional standards.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education or equivalent relevant professional experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least two years of relevant full-time professional experience.
- Ability to interact with diverse constituencies and convey complicated information with tact and diplomacy.
- Proficient skill in the use of technical computer applications, including electronic databases, case management systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Skill in research, presenting, and explaining policies and procedures, assembling data, preparing complex reports, and formulating and presenting recommendations.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with school system employees, managers, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize changing assignments, and organize a busy workload; meet deadlines; and work well under pressure while exercising excellent attention to detail.
Pay
Salary range: $56,942 – $87,698 (hiring range: $56,942 – $70,624).
