Technician I, Packaging
Job Description
Individual will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and will be responsible for knowing the operation, assisting the setup and minor mechanical repairs to packaging equipment. (Baggers, Printers, CSMAs, Weighers and Box Formers). This position is an entry level position with the expectation that members to learn and grow. Must be able to assist all team members on the Maintenance Mechanic Team, for support and personal development.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Technical degree and three years or more of related experience and/or training in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present out general business items to groups of coworkers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Able to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Expected to work overtime, weekends and rotating/varying shifts, as well as be available for emergency call-out as needed
- Stand and/or walk for up to 12 hour shift
- Drive vehicles
- Climb on a ladder or scaffolding to heights in excess of 10’, balance, and work above the shoulders frequently
- Bend/stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat frequently for extended periods of time
- Use both hands for frequent grasping and occasional fine manipulation and fingering
- Occasionally carry and lift up to 50 pounds above the shoulders
- Occasionally push or pull various items, such as equipment, filters, motors, tools, and compressors pumps up to 75 pounds
- Work at heights
- Tolerate required personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, work gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks, and safety harnesses on a continuous basis
Pay Rate
Pay Rate: $23.18 - $24.21. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
