The Technician I position is a full‑time role at the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Yardville, NJ, supporting the clinical and administrative medical team at the prison.
Responsibilities
- Take vital signs, height and weight and document in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assist the physician/associate practitioner with procedures, including preparing the inmate for examination.
- Obtain specimen collection and handling, including drawing blood.
- Assist with cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
- Maintain or assist in maintaining supply stock in the Health Service Unit by ordering in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintain supply stock in examination rooms.
- Aggregate medication orders and forward to the pharmacy provider/local pharmacy.
Requirements
- Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.
- At least two (2) years of progressively more responsible related healthcare experience involving multiple areas of knowledge, skill and abilities, demonstrating competencies to perform the essential duties.
