Position Overview

TEAM is seeking an entry-level individual with a good mechanical aptitude, a strong grasp of math, and a safety-focused mindset. This individual should have the ability to train and learn Hot Tap and Line Stop services as a technician, assisting and performing various tasks and work scopes within the service level qualification assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Compliance with all safety procedures and job documentation.
  • Assist in training and learning Hot Tap and Line Stop operations in accordance with the technician certification following company processes and procedures.
  • Achieve or exceed quality expectations for the performance of Hot Tap and Line Stop operations, which may include techniques such as creating a safe entry into a pipe or vessel, operating at pressure or vacuum, hot taps and conventional line stops, hi-stops, super hi-stops, double line stops, 45-degree angle taps, tee stops and elbow stops, across-the-line stops, through-the-line valve stops, freeze stops, and attending and completing required training to maintain competence.
  • Maintain all tooling and equipment, document all service activities as required.
  • Identify circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Maintain personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
  • Maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard, refinery or plant environment, including access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, to investigate.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine office duties.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school, industry, or relevant training preferred.
  • A valid drivers license required.

Work Conditions

  • Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant or pipeline atmosphere.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
