About the role

Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures. Responsibilities include following established preventive maintenance schedules, inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures, observing and documenting signs of wear and tear, gathering capital expense information, recommending repair needs, determining replacement needs, and documenting preventive maintenance activities.

Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment. Tasks include inspecting, operating, or testing facilities and equipment to diagnose issues, dismantling equipment to access and remove defective parts, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, and employing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment. Provides prompt response to emergency calls and documents repair activities.

Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information, conducting price comparisons, ordering parts and replacement equipment, recording purchases and usage, submitting warranty claims, and complying with OSHA and EPA regulations. Ensures quality work complies with federal, state, and local regulations and that contractors follow Walmart quality standards and safety requirements.

Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, determining customer needs and business priorities, coordinating and executing work assignments, providing advice and feedback, and helping others adapt to change or new challenges.

Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners, analyzing information from multiple sources, monitoring progress, and identifying improvement opportunities.

Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining and guiding how to apply these in executing business processes, implementing related action plans, and using the Open Door Policy.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in the plumbing trade
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Licensed Journeyman Plumber or equivalent in the state where you will be working

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
  • Intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
