Technician- Field Service Level 1

Responsibilities

• Complete repair orders, shop time tickets, swap out reports, and all other necessary paperwork
• Ensure the mechanics shop is kept in a clean and orderly condition
• Attend all safety meetings and follow all safety policies and procedures
• Perform all duties requested by the manager and work with minimal supervision
• Develop understanding of the theory, principles, and repairs relating to internal combustion engines, electrical circuits, and mechanical mechanisms applying to the repair of power generation equipment
• Learn the mechanical condition of generators and equipment and diagnose component malfunctions
• Perform service and repair actions based on trainer and supervisor guidance
• Assist other technicians in performing inspections and servicing of equipment
• Clean equipment after completion of service or repairs
• Learn to use technical manuals, wiring schematics, and test equipment

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills for mechanical troubleshooting programs
• Good communication skills for customer service, meeting customer deadlines, and keeping operations informed of all equipment status
• Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane to move equipment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, including during after-hours calls requiring service work at customer sites
• Reliable transportation for on-call road jobs (personal vehicle required; mileage reimbursed)
• Minimum of 0–1 years of mechanical experience with basic knowledge of engine functionality and manufacturer-specified servicing
