Full-time, non-exempt position in the Rentals business unit. Reports to the Operations Manager. Travel is required.

About the role

Peak’s Field Technician provides service work on accommodations and rental equipment, including mobile homes, generators, light plants, sewer tanks, and water tanks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver well site accommodations and rental equipment to customer locations.
  • Rig up and down well site surface rental equipment and housing quarters.
  • Break down, load, and reset rig site equipment during rig movement.
  • Retrieve all equipment from job locations that have stopped rent.
  • Install semi-permanent water and sewer systems.
  • Respond to all service calls.
  • Communicate and work professionally with co-workers and rig site personnel.
  • Prepare and/or participate in job safety meetings prior to assigned tasks.
  • Maintain personal truck logs and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Work closely with team members in structured work crews.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory health, safety, and environmental requirements, including completing daily job safety analyses, pre/post-trip inspections, near-miss, and hazard reports.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and housing troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Generator experience is a plus.
  • Goal-oriented and driven to accomplish results.
  • Ability and desire to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Willingness to learn introductory carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills.
  • Commitment to operating in and contributing to a safe work environment.
  • General labor or construction background is a plus.
  • Willingness to be on call during weekends, holidays, nights, and overtime as needed.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

Physical Demands and Exposures

  • Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain, extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts, high wind, ice, snow, wet/humid conditions, vibration, and dust.
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs individually.
