Position Summary
The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, manages exterior facility operations while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
What you'll do
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety protocols and certification requirements.
- Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
- Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Lead third-party providers, conduct quality assurance inspections, and coach team members for performance improvement.
- Control costs by sourcing parts and equipment, submitting warranty claims, and preparing budget estimates for projects.
- Address customer concerns by troubleshooting and ensuring service meets facility and event needs.
- Comply with OSHA, EPA, and company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
About the team
The Facilities Services team ensures safe and efficient store operations by managing maintenance, HVAC, refrigeration, and exterior services. As an Exterior Services Technician, you will collaborate with specialized teams to maintain essential systems and support store functions. The team values versatility, teamwork, and quality workmanship. Members gain practical experience across multiple trades, fostering skill development and career growth within Facilities Services.
What you'll bring
- Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Experience in managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer concerns professionally.
- C Competence in budgeting, cost control, and sourcing materials and equipment for repairs and upgrades.
- Effective leadership and coaching skills to develop third-party providers and team members.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, submit reports, and communicate clearly with management and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
- No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
- No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
- Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
- Experience in third-party management.
- Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
- State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
