Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain, design, develop and continuously improve equipment and utilize technology to ensure high-quality frame production.
  • Perform PLC troubleshooting and programming for large automation production lines, both on the shop floor and remotely.
  • Create and navigate standard PLC structures, program Rockwell PLCs, and integrate PLC interfaces for FANUC material handling, MIG welding, laser cutting robotic applications, and Vision-assisted handling.
  • Utilize safety PLC structures and architectural designs for safe machine control.
  • Program and troubleshoot motion control and VFD applications using Rockwell integrated control.
  • Coordinate activities with apprentices, helpers, and contractors.
  • Develop and update preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, identifying weaknesses and implementing improvements.
  • Assess downtime situations for root cause analysis and suggest/implement improvements.
  • Evaluate potential risks to similar processes and develop work orders and plans to resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as designated.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technician course or equivalent from a community or recognized college program consisting of two years or more.
  • Certificate of Qualification in a Formet recognized trade such as Electrician, Millwright, Tool and Die Maker, Automation Technician, and Controls Technician.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $33.32 - $47.66 CAD hourly (based on experience).
  • Signing Bonus: $2,000.
  • Shifts: Rotate between Days, Afternoons, and Midnights.
  • Shift Premiums: $0.85/hour (Afternoons) and $1.35/hour (Midnights).
  • Weekly Pay: Direct Deposit.
  • Overtime: 1.5x after 40 hours worked (hourly).
