About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It involves Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn Fairings according to written procedures.
- Perform composite layup such as: carbon pre-preg, carbon fibers, fiberglass, and hand layup.
- Operate or support large, specialized equipment such as Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) machines, large ovens, robotic inspection, or trim and drill equipment.
- Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize any potential delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing.
- Operate precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
- Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Experience with aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another related field: (0-3 years Level I Technician, 3+ Level II Technician, 5+ Level III Technician, 8+ Sr Level Technician).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: automated fiber placement (AFP) and tape laying (ATL), lamination, large out-of-autoclave (OoA) oven curing, tooling, nondestructive evaluation, trimming/drilling/routing/machining, robotics, bonding, and production control systems.
- Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, and optical measuring instruments.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
- Expertise in various applications, including adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
- Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
- Siemens 840D controller experience, G- and M-code familiarity.
- Understanding of equipment maintenance and diagnostic principles and failure root cause and corrective action (RCCA).
- Knowledge of precision assembly processes and handling large aerospace components.
- Strong technical and leadership skills with a keen attention to detail, essential for leading teams in complex integration tasks.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in various teams to foster a positive work environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes, driving innovation.
- Willingness to work overtime.

- B | Monday – Thursday (2pm-10:30pm)
- C | Friday – Sunday (6am-6:30pm)
- D| Friday- Sunday (6pm-630am)
