Technician Compactor Shop B

About the role

The Compactor Shop Technician B, under supervision from a Compactor Shop Technician A, performs troubleshooting, design, installation, and repairs of all compactors and power units. This role requires compliance with the Company’s safety procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Replacement of hydraulic cylinders.
• Fabricates replacement hoses and fittings.
• Weld steel components using MIG and Arc welding equipment.
• Cuts steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricates steel components for compactors.
• Performs on-site repairs at customer locations.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Installs company and safety decals in accordance with company standards.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Refer more complex repairs to the Technician A or Lead Technician.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with welding, hydraulics, or electronics.
• Ability to utilize mig & stick welders, plasma cutter, airless paint sprayers.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.
• At least 2 years of prior experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with electronic systems.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.

Skills

• Proficiency in welding techniques.
• Understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Basic knowledge of electronics.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
