Responsibilities

• Manages decontamination, sterilization, distribution and storage of supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Participates in Performance Improvement.
• Demonstrates Fiscal management.
• Maintains proper environment of care.
• Develops and disseminates ongoing education.
• Serves as preceptor.
• Completes all assigned goals.

Specifications

• Experience:

  • Minimum Required: Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam for central service technicians and maintains a certified registered central service technical credential administered by the International Association of healthcare Central Service Material Management or the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution.
  • Preferred/Desired: Preferred/Desired Certified central service technician

• Education:

  • Minimum Required: None specified
  • Preferred/Desired: 10 Hours of continuing education annually

• Special Skills:

  • Minimum Required: Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
  • Preferred/Desired: Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Computer literacy.
